ZOOMING IN ON THE CHALLENGE

As companies everywhere began to shift to a “work from anywhere” mentality, Canon U.S.A. asked Hatch to pitch campaign ideas that would help highlight and sell the hybrid work environment capabilities of its in-office and at-home devices when coupled with its integrated print management software. Not only did they select us as their partner in this initiative, but the relationship has since expanded to include additional marketing strategy, digital campaigns, creative design, and multimedia content creation.

CONTROLLING THE MESSAGE

To fulfill Canon’s initial ask, we developed the snappy “KEEP CTRL” campaign. By basing the vibrant and fast-moving concept on the well-known “CTRL + P” keyboard shortcut, we demonstrated to IT administrators and technology decision makers how easy it is to maintain control of their company’s print and scan infrastructure—whether employees are working in the office or at home. Using colorful, eye-popping motion graphics paired with sound design, we were able to catch the attention of targeted LinkedIn users and direct them to information-filled landing pages.

BUILDING THE FLEET

We made the preliminary concept flexible enough to be able to evolve it to focus on various objectives of the initiative—e.g. highlighting specific features, unique software integrations, and differing industry needs. We also leveraged our digital strategy to diversify the ad format, using animation, carousels, organic posts, and more to attract eyeballs. All of these assets were then packaged and provided to Canon’s network of dealers in an effort to support them in their sales ventures.

When Canon needed a quick and catchy demo video of one of their affordable desktop printers to use on ecommerce channels, they knew just the people to call on. Our team scripted, storyboarded, filmed, and edited the entire project in-house. (We even stood in as hand actors). The end result effectively highlighted the convenient features of the at-home printer that was then used on retailer channels such as Amazon.
